Shirley created the keyboard music arrangement for this recording, layering her instrumentation beneath Janis Ian’s original vocals and guitar track with care and restraint, honoring the song’s emotional core and timeless character.
After hearing the arrangement, Janis was so moved that she chose to release it as an official single on her own record label.
